Specimen of Clarendon Light Face

This type measures 4 line in size and was produced with the end-cut method. The type block    is stamped Hamilton, Two Rivers, Wis.  which was used by Hamilton between 1891–1950s.

This face was first shown as wood type by William H. Page in his 1859 Specimens of Wood Type.

Clarendon Light Face was not shown in  American Wood Type, but this cut was shown in the folio on page 45.

This cut is the Hamilton cut.

Cooley showed a Clarendon Light Face in his c.1859 Specimens of Wood Type  but was more expanded than Clarendon Condensed Light Face which matches this cut more closely.
