Antique Light Face Extended Reversed
This type measures 4 line in size and was produced with the end-cut method. The type block is stamped The Hamilton Mfg. Co, Chicago & Two Rivers which was used by Hamilton between 1889–1891.
This face was shown as wood type by J.E. Hamilton and William Baker in their 1887 Specimens of Wood Type.
This cut of Antique Light Face Extended Reversed was not shown in either American Wood Type or the folio.
Type name used by manufacturer:
Hamilton Antique Light Face Extended Reversed [133]
This is the Hamilton cut.
It is unlikely that this face was only produced by Hamilton, as all manufacturers offered a reverse version of their types, but the Hamilton and Baker catalog of 1887 was the first to show a specimen of this type.
