  • This type measures 7 line in size and was produced with the end-cut method. The type block is stamped Wm. H. Page & Co., Greenville, Ct. which was used by Page and Mowry between 1859–1870.
  • This face was first shown as wood type by William H. Page in his 1860 Supplementary Specimens of Wood Type.
  • This cut of Grecian was shown in American Wood Type on page 275 and in the folio on page 7.

This face was first listed, though not shown, by David Knox in his 1858 Specimens of Wood Type. John Cooley showed a Grecian, though a more condensed version than this design, in his c.1859 Specimens of Wood Type.

Kelly believed this design to have originated as a wood type.
